01Order
Start with the limited opening
If the garden is your priority, establish its current opening session and put it first. Use the more flexible park walk around it. A meal can divide the day, but check that the market or restaurant serves at the hour you intend to arrive.
02Transport
Use the correct station entrance
Study the Metro de Quito map and the final walk, not just the station name. For a taxi or arranged ride, provide a named entrance or street corner. Save a second pickup point in case the first is difficult to reach.
03Walking
Avoid repeated crossings
Group the stops by location so the day does not repeatedly cross busy roads or the full park. If one member of the group wants a shorter visit, choose a clear meeting place rather than assuming everyone can keep the same pace.
04Budget
Separate free space from paid visits
Public park time, garden admission, meals and transport are different budget lines. Ask about current concessions directly and carry any documentation needed for them. The money guide helps plan payment across the wider trip.
05Conditions
Keep an indoor alternative
A long outdoor morning can become uncomfortable in rain or strong sun. A shorter garden visit, café stop or return to your accommodation is a reasonable change. Do not add a cross-city attraction simply to fill a wet afternoon.
06Next stop
Give the old city its own day
The historic-center route is best enjoyed without an urgent return to the north. If you are leaving Quito afterward, use the intercity bus guide or airport transfer guide to plan that movement separately.
